If you are an Empath then you know struggles of being in large crowds, being around negative situations, negative people, etc. I could go further, but I don’t want to make this too long. If you are an empath you know what I mean, if you are not sure if you are an empath, you can research it further to see if this is something that may be unknowingly affecting you.


What things you are doing to help? Are you, grounding daily, using positive affirmations, crystals,  learning to dial your empathy skills up or down depending on when or where you need them? Maybe you are smudging and keeping your space clean? All that is great!


But here is one area that you may not be considering that could be affecting you. Social Media!!! So I realize this from time to time, but to be honest, I never stick with it until I get to where I am just overwhelmed with it.   With so many shares of animal abuse, child abuse (sexual and otherwise), rapes, murders, environmental impacts, I could go on and on. You could be making yourself worse and not even realize it. Look I don’t want to bury my head in the sand.  But here’s the thing, I am a grown ass woman, and I know full well the ugly and nasty that goes on in this world. I donate time, money and  a LOT  of energy to try and make the world a better place,  I do as much as I can do without running myself into the ground (and some days I do that)  BUT  I do have to keep myself safe as well and I can’t change everything and everyone no matter how BAD I want to! And trust me I want to!


I know as well as you do that we want to keep up with our friends loved ones and what not. but even those folks post things that may be too hard on someone who is sensitive or identifies as an empath. So maybe you and I should consider limiting social media to positive groups?  Maybe… like your mastermind groups, or personal uplifting groups where people are posting about goals and good things to help empower or motivate you!   I know personally I feel better, and less all over the place when I limit my scrolling and just log on to check in on groups that are helpful to me and where I am going in life!

So consider how social media (if you haven’t already) may be throwing a monkey wrench in your day, your goals, your health, your mood, or just the way you feel in general if you are an empath. If you take a break and see a change I would love to hear from you.
