3 Strategies to Sleep, Naturally

As a solo entrepreneur, I know how hard it can be when you feel stressed and have overwhelm and how it can affect your sleep.

In fact years ago, I was like the ‘YES’ person and it started wearing me down physically, mentally and emotionally and caused me to land myself in the E.R and later was told by my cardiologist they couldn’t help me, don’t feel bad,  the story has a great ending. I feel awesome now!  That’s another story for another time.

So, if this is something you struggle with, you are not alone!   Did you know that the body goes through the repair phase during the normal (restful) sleep process?   Poor sleep can lead to inflammation in the body which can be a factor in poor mental and physical health. For example, focus, energy and other systems like the immune can be affected by lack of sleep, or poor sleep habits. (ACHOO worsened allergies? this could be the cause)

Rose Flower Essence

Rose flower essence can help promote better sleep patterns. It can also help with active minds and help nourish the spirit to feel loved and supported, so that night-time can be a time of calm and rest. This can be great for people who get nervous or anxious because sleep can be a challenge for them or feel stressful about sleep (like nightmares, insomnia, etc). I like Rock Rose or Wild Rose, but there may be others with similar properties, try and see which one works best for you!

Relaxing Tea Blend

1 Teaspoon of Dried Lemon Balm Leaf

1/4 of a Teaspoon of Passionflower Leaf

Mix herbs and brew for 5 minutes. Enjoy before bedtime.

Aromatherapy for Sleep 

Lavender Essential oil in an essential oil diffuser is a great way to help you relax and fall asleep faster.  I love  a water based diffuser that has an automatic shut off, the one I use is Floracopeia there is a similar one like it HERE

Simply add water and a few drops of Lavender Essential Oil and 1 Drop of Spikenard Essential oil (optional) and diffuse on your night stand to help you drift off to sleep naturally.  (Make sure you don’t diffuse around sensitive people or pets).

Follow the drops on your diffuser is you have a different one.  I find a small amount is effective. Aromatherapy should be used with care and ethically since a lot of plant material goes it to making these bottles and we want to be ethical in our use. More is not better!
